William Folorunso Kumuyi was born on 6 June 1941 into a Christian and God-fearing home. He is an indigene of Ogun state, Nigeria. William Kumuyi obtained his preliminary education in Ogun State, and his secondary education at the Mayflower School in Ikenne, Ogun state.
William Kumuyi enrolled at the University of Ibadan where he studied Mathematics. In 1967, he completed his studies. William Kumuyi bagged a first-class degree in Mathematics and was the best graduating student for the year as well as the valedictory speaker. In a bid to acquire more knowledge, William Kumuyi enrolled at the University of Lagos for a post-graduate program in Education.

Ministry
During his stay as a lecturer at the University of Lagos, William Kumuyi started a Bible study group with 15 students, this led to the birth and creation of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry.
In 1975, William Kumuyi was disfellowshiped from the Apostolic Faith Church for preaching on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. After he left the Apostolic Faith Church William Kumuyi founded his own ministry.
Personal Relationship
William Kumuyi got married to Abiodun Olowu on 13 September 1980. Their marriage is blessed with two children. Sadly for William Kumuyi, he lost his wife on 11 April 2009.
He later remarried on 13 October 2010 to Folashade Adenike Blaize.
