For over ten years now, Manchester United has become well known for its extravagant spending and propensity to spend money quickly without producing much in return.
The Red Devils have one of the most expensively put-together teams in the world right now, and their current players earn some of the highest salaries in the sport.
United has spent a lot of money, but they haven’t had much success on the field. Meanwhile, their players keep getting paid well despite their poor play.

In the summer of 2019, Manchester United paid a whopping £80 million to acquire center-back Harry Maguire from Leicester City, breaking the previous record for the highest fee paid for a defender.
Harry Maguire was made the leader after a promising startup career in Man United, but since the arrival of Dutch coach Erik ten Hag prior to the 2022–23 season, the 29-year-old has been warming the bench for substitutes.

Brazilian winger became Manchester United’s biggest acquisition during the summer when the Red Devils agreed to pay a fee of roughly £85 million to bring the 22-year-old to the Premier League from Ajax in the Netherlands.

The injured French forward Anthony Martial signed a long-term improved contract with United in January 2019 under the previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Still, his career with the team appeared to be in jeopardy soon after due to a decline in form and a loan move to Sevilla in Spain.
Despite the speedy attacker’s continued struggles with staying healthy, Martial appears to have gained Erik ten Hag’s trust this season.

When Casemiro, a veteran player, was acquired by Manchester United from Real Madrid in the summer for almost £70 million, he immediately became one of the highest-paid players at the club.
