The Southwestern Bell Corporation was one of the seven RBOCs, and it bought the majority of AT&T’s ownership rights in 2005, renaming as AT&T Inc.

The firm focused on developing mobile and wireless communication. Additionally, they ran a landline service. They also started purchasing up smaller businesses that were also in their line of telecom development. They then purchased the BellSouth company in 2006, renaming it AT&T Mobility. The company has consistently grown over the years, maintaining its focus on mobile telecom and current technologies.

In the US, AT&T is known as the largest provider of landline services. It is the second largest mobile provider.  It presently has 256,420 employees.
